Beijing Dog Market Raided and Shut Down

Beijing Dog Market Raided and Shut Down
Dec 03, 2014 By eChinacities.com

An illegal live animal market was raided and shut down near the Gaoliming market in Beijing. This specific market allegedly sells about ten dogs a day at about 700 RMB each.

As Beijing enters winter, demand for dog meat for hot pot restaurants is going up due to its association with warmth in traditional Chinese medicine, and these markets are getting more popular as it is hard to get good dog meat.

Eating dog is not illegal, but is becoming more and more frowned upon as Chinese people prefer to have dogs as pets.

Having removed such illegal dog selling will slowly help the country go into a better place, though China is becoming better day by day and hopefully will be the first in the world soon :)

The police piss me off here so much. They do as little as possible. Just enough to stop the country descending into chaos.

If God hadn't have wanted us to eat animals then he wouldn't have made them out of delicious meat. I can't imagine that dogs are delicious.

So I guess that's also why He made humans out of delicious meat too.

This sounds like Chinese policy. It doesn't matter if it is legal or not, just make sure the people are happy.

I stopped eating pork and I'm thinking of quitting meat entirely. It can't be an easy task in China.
