Zhengzhou covers an area of nearly 7.5 thousand square kilometers, of which the urban area is 1,010.3 square kilometers. It has a total population of 8.63 million, 4.25 million of whom live in urban areas. Among the city’s permanent residents, there are 4,422,024 males and 4,204,481 females, accounting for 51.26% and 48.74% of the total population respectively.
