98 Chinese citizens were arrested in Turkey on Tuesday for holding forged Kyrgyz passports. The group was arrested in Istanbul’s Ataturk airport.

Turkish media reported that the group had flown from Northern Cyprus to Istanbul, Turkey and were en route to the city of Jeddah in South Africa. Airport security personnel found that four people in the group had suspect passports. After a more detailed examination, the airport found that all 98 passwords were fake.

Media reported that the passport holders were from Xinjiang, China. They had travelled to Saudi Arabia and purchased fake passports there for more than 2500 Euros each.
