14.7% Decrease in Overseas Visitors to Beijing in First Half of Year

According to the latest figures released by the Beijing Municipal Bureau of Statistics and the National Bureau of Investigation Corps Beijing, between January and July this year, Beijing received 2.165 million foreign tourists, a 14.7% decline over the same period last year. Moreover, the number of tourists from Hong Kong and Macau fell by 9.1% to 347, 000.

Statistics also showed that the majority of tourists came from the United States (431,000), Korea (215,000) and Japan (136,000).
