ISIS Announces Killing of Chinese, Norwegian Captives
Nov 19, 2015 By eChinacities.com

ISIS announced that it has killed hostages from China and Norway, according to the Associated Press. Two months ago, ISIS had announced that it was holding the two men for ransom.

The terrorist group published photos of the bodies of the two hostages in their propaganda magazine, Dabiq. The article said that the men were kafirs (infidels) and had been abandoned by their countries and organizations.

Norway has confirmed that one of the hostages is Johan Grimsgaard-Ofstad, 48, from Oslo. The Chinese hostage is named Fan Jinghui, 50, and was a freelance consultant from Beijing.

The ISIS article did not mention where the hostages were captured. The Islamic State currently controls large areas of land in Iraq and Syria.

Beijing News previously reported that Fan Jinghui’s identity was confirmed by residents in his former Beijing district, Shijingshan.

CCTV reported that the Ministry of Foreign Affairs has also verified the identity of the Chinese victims. The government also reiterated its firm opposition to any acts of violence against innocent civilians.
