A beggar from Beijing has managed to purchase two Beijing houses with the money he makes from begging on the Beijing suwbway, Tencent News reports.

According to Beijing police, who have been watching this man for some time, the man normally enters the subway station bathrooms and changes into his ‘begging uniform’ before heading onto the trains. He typically rides from Liujiayao Station on Line 5 to Huixinxijie Nankou Station and back again.

Police said that the man transforms from a strong, able-bodied, decently dressed man, into a disabled beggar within 10 minutes. When confronted by police he apparently magically stood up to the surprise of a passenger who had just given him money.

Upon questioning, Beijing police discovered that the beggar, surnamed Li, was 46 years old and was the owner of two apartments in Beijing.

People really need to stop giving these guys money and just offer to buy them a bing zi or something. Their reaction will give away the truth in seconds.

I've tried that in New York and they always claim to be allergic or something. You can't buy crack or real estate with dumplings.
