Shanghai Woman Successfully Sues Man for ‘Virginity Rights Violation’ in Landmark Case

Shanghai Woman Successfully Sues Man for ‘Virginity Rights Violation’ in Landmark Case
Sep 19, 2014 By eChinacities.com

The Pudong People’s Court ordered a married man who had sex with a 30 year old virgin before getting married, to pay 30,000 RMB for violating the woman’s ‘virginity rights’ and ‘bringing about a negative influence on her health and reputation’.

In 2009, 30 year old Miss Chen met Mr Li online and the two started dating last September. During this time, they had sex and Mr Li promised to marry Miss Chen. However, in December last year, Mr Li suddenly broke up with Miss Chen, and ended all contact with her.

Miss Chen, attempted to contact Mr Li for two months, to no avail. She finally broke into his apartment in February and found him at home, with his wife, who he had married in January 2013. The lawsuit was filed on March 26.

Miss Chen sued on the grounds that her ‘health and virginity rights’ had been violated and demanded that Mr Li pay 500,000 RMB and give her a written apology. She also demanded 1540.60 RMB for gynecological treatment expenses.

Meanwhile, Mr Li’s lawyer, (Mr Li was not present at the court hearing) denied that the couple had ever had sex and furthermore, there was no evidence to back up Miss Chen’s claims.

However, the court eventually ruled in Miss Chen’s favour, ordering Mr Li to pay 30,000 RMB for violating her chastity rights. This is the first ever ruling of this kind in Shanghai.

What are the odds that she might not be the virgin in the first place? Into a sexual relationship of her free will, and still a virgin at 30? Give me a f... break. How many times a girl loses her cherry if several guys claim to be the first man? I heard about regular extramarital deflowerers, they always appeared to be the most pathetic dumbest scum ever. Btw, that loser's wife can henpeck him from now on at her heart's delight. Looks like a plain adultery story.

All of the Chinese men and women I have talked to have agreed that the judge was right to award her the case. Some of the men even said that Chinese men are too irresponsible. The Chinese women said that the man cheated her out of her virginity. Too bad previous commentators didn't start a conversation with insight into culture, but instead focused on their own cultural bents.

Here's why the judge ruled in this way. This decision supports the idea that women are not equal to men, women are not responsible or in control of their sexuality, women must be virgins for their insecure husbands, women have one purpose to make sons for their husbands.

WTF. I think this is actually the weirdest piece of Chinese news I've ever heard. I'm speechless. Virginity rights? So now it's illegal to sleep with a woman unless you marry her? She must have bribed the judge. He tricked her into bed at the worst. Pretty sure that's not illegal. It's wrong, but not a crime surely.

Unbelievable. What was her punishment for breaking into the mans home? Woman is psycho, no wonder it took 30 years for her to lose. 1000¥ a year. Could have waited until 60 and doubled compensation
