Video footage of a woman believed to be a “Xiaosan”—or a third party in a relationship—publicly stripped by four other women in Lanzhou recently became the topic of discussion on numerous Chinese social media sites.

While public shaming such as this one is not all that uncommon here, what makes this particular one even more disturbing is that security guards can be seen standing nearby doing absolutely nothing to stop the women from stripping her and throwing faeces at her. A small child, presumably the mistress’s daughter, can also be seen standing by crying.
