On February 24, a 27 year-old woman from Shenzhen had her hand sliced open by her husband after refusing to have sex with him. During the Lantern Festival, the family of the woman was gathered at their house. Though they were busy with preparations, the husband suddenly demanded sex from the wife. After refusing, the husband dragged her into the bathroom and proceeded to attack her with a kitchen knife.

It's very unfortunate that domestic violence isn't taken seriously enough in China. Thought better than in the past this stuff rarely goes to the police, so sometimes people just assume they can get away with it. Very upsetting.
