Heibei’s Yichang played host to a fascinating event this weekend: a chicken beauty contest. Originally we thought this was a beauty contest for women, but the meaning of ‘chicks’ was a little more literal.
Seven chickens participated in the contest, and by a majority of 25 votes, number 7 was named ‘Chicken King’, and sold for 5,000 RMB at the following auction for an excited audience.
