Xiaomi was criticized recently after it came out with its most recent model on August 16, the MIUI 6 series- several of the applications and features including the calendar and the calculator functions showed a remarkable resemblance to the Apple operating system, drawing accusations that it has ripped off the iPhone.
The backlash came on the popular mobile phone website, PhoneArena and accusations of plagiarism now abound. Hugo Barra, Vice President of Xiaomi, has strongly denied these claims, and put the negative media commentary down to mischief.
Apple is yet to comment.
