Xiamen University Malaysia Campus to Open in Kuala Lumpur September 2015

On October 17, construction began on Xiamen University’s Malaysian Campus; this is the first major Chinese university campus abroad. In September 2015, the first students will be accepted and start attending classes.

Xiamen University’s Kuala Lumpur Campus is 45 kilometers to the Southwest of Kuala Lumpur, covers 150 acres, and will cater to 10,000 students, including Bachelors’ students, Masters, and PhD. Most students will be Malaysian and Southeast Asian, and teachers will be recruited on a global scale.

During the first phase, the university will have five colleges with different majors: Chinese language and culture, ocean and environmental studies, business, medicine and accounting. In the second phase, the following colleges will be developed: chemical processing and energy, electrical processing, biological processing, material science and technology, and animation and cultural innovation.
