Wuxi acts as a transportation hub for the surrounding regions of Jiangsu and also as a stopover into the larger cities of China. The capital of Jiangsu, Nanjing, is only 50 minutes away by train and Beijing, Shanghai and Hangzhou are easily reached by air, rail and road. The Beijing-Shanghai high speed rail stops at Wuxi East Station, taking travelers to Shanghai in under 50 minutes and to Beijing in under five hours.
