Wuhan International River Crossing Festival Makes a Splash Jul 16

The annual Wuhan International River Crossing Festival will kick off on July 16. The swimming races will begin at the Hanyangmen Pier in Wuchang District and finish at Hanyangzui on the south beach. 

The race will be 1,800m long, with the grand prize (for male and female contests) being 10,000 USD. Runners up and third place swimmers will win prizes of 6,000 and 3,000 USD respectively.

60 swimmers have signed up for the race; 38 of which are men and 22 of which are women. Bad news if you want to sign up however: registration for the event has already closed. But don’t let that stop you from coming to the river and cheering the competitors on!

Getting there: take bus 14, 16, 19, 25, 43, 514, 515, 539, 542, 554, 566, 572, 573, 578, 607, 717, 804, or 916 to Lingong Dadao Hanyangmen stop (临江大道汉阳门站)
