Wuhan Bans Adult Passengers on Electric Bikes

A new rule has been passed that only allows children under the age of 12 to be carried on the back of electric bikes in Wuhan from now on. Adult passengers caught on electric bikes will be fined 50 RMB.

Moreover, electric bikes without license plates now fall under the scope of motorbike management meaning anyone caught driving an electric bike without a proper driver’s license may face 15 days in detention.

If they want result, the government must have more policemen on the roads and they must check e-bike drivers. What I see in these day (and always) that e-bikes still break all of the rules, make the roads unsafety, mostly for walkers.
