A Daqing woman stole her husband’s car in order to force him to spend New Year’s with her parents.

Zhang had reported his stolen car to the police when he realized that the thief was actually his wife Li. “I knew where his driver’s license, ID card, and keys were. Without any of them he could not go home. Then he would have to stay here and spend the New Year with my parents,” said Li.

Li said that she did not expect her husband to call the police.

Not more than other women, it's just that China has so many people so obviously there are more nutjobs too. Wouldn't happen so often is people here didn't rush into marriage with their first boyfriend/girlfriend regardless of his/her sanity.
