Woman, Aged 91, Pulled Around China in a Rickshaw By Her Daughter
Jan 14, 2014 By eChinacities.com

A 91 year old woman’s wish to experience the different sights and sounds of China was granted. No, this isn’t a story of a benevolent businessman who heard of her desire and generously funded the whole adventure. The old woman covered more than 30,000 km of Chinese landscape when her daughter, a 63 year old retiree, pulled her in a rickshaw type vehicle.

The woman was inspired, and accompanied, a 52 year old farmer from Shandong, who did the same for his 80 year old father. The rickshaw’s served as their transportation during the day and as their ‘hotel’ at night. It was just big enough for them all to fit.

They sent of in September from Beijing and arrived in Haikou on January 11, 2014.
The woman walked for five months and went through three pairs of shoes. How far do you think you’ve walked in five months?

i know from personal experience that traveling like this is more expensive than simply taking the train. fun and leisure reasons must be involved. from a pure money-to-math calculation you spend more money doing this than by traveling through train.

Heartwarming. I won't ever do it for my mom, though. I'll never persuade her to come to China even if I paid her (which I did, for my child's baby shower), and I don't feel much for lugging her ungrateful 120kg fat arse through China or anywhere else for that matter.
