Caishiji Tea (Cai Shi Ji Cha) 采石矶茶
This tea is made with soy beans and sugar, and is usually drunk along with liquor. It is flavored with a number of ingredients, including licorice, cassia and lilac.

Bamboo Huang Carvings (Zhu Huang Diao Ke) 竹簧雕刻
Usually taking the form of landscape scenes or animals, these carvings are reminiscent of ivory carvings for their smoothness and style.

Huobi paintings (Huo Bi Hua) 火笔画
Literally meaning ‘fire pen’, these are often found burned on wood or bamboo. Depictions are often made of landscapes, or to resemble famous Chinese paintings. A special steel stylus is used to burn the images in to the wood, and the artist’s skill matches that of great calligraphers.

Ningguo Bamboo Paintings (Ning Guo Zhu Hua) 宁国竹画
Only certain kinds of bamboo can be used in this unique art form, which demands a very high skill level and a steady hand. These paintings are a combination of relief carving and traditional style Chinese painting. Both Chinese ink and traditional paints are used in the design and coloring of these paintings.

Chuju (Chu Ju) 雏菊
This variety of chrysanthemum is well known in China for its pure white petals and yellow center, with a sweet and incense-like fragrance. Chrysanthemums are commonly used to make tea in China, and are believed to have detoxifying and vision-clearing effects when consumed.

Liu’an Melon Seed Shaped Tea (Liu An Gua Pian) 六安瓜片
Originating in the Wanxi mountain region, this green tea is bright in color and has a particularly sweet taste, and is one of the ten most famous teas in China.

Four Treasures of Chinese Calligraphy (Wen Fang Si Bao) 文房四宝
The four key instruments for practicing Chinese calligraphy are the inkstone, brush, paper and ink. All four of these ‘treasures’ are produced in the Hefei area, and have been the major writing implements used in China since the Spring and Autumn Period (which began in 770 BC).
