Xiang embroidery (Xiangxiu) 湘绣
Xiang embroidery, which originated in Hunan province, is one of the four great embroidery styles of China, dating back hundreds of years. Xiang embroidery doesn't feature the meticulous detail of other styles: its appeal is in its folk art style, deliberate looseness of execution and rich colors. Tigers are a favorite Xiang embroidery subject, along other wildlife like birds, as well as landscape scenes.

Chrysanthemum Stone (Juhua Shidiao) 菊花石雕
This natural gray/black stone has white veins which resemble petals radiating on a stalk, giving a chrysanthemum-like appearance, hence its name. Artists carve the stones into different shapes resembling flowers, birds, animals and other figures. These artworks come in sizes from small objects to huge screens and are sold as decorative ornaments.

Liuyang Fireworks (Liuyang Huapao) 浏阳花炮
Fireworks originated in the Tang Dynasty and reached the height of their popularity in the Song Dynasty . During the lunar New Year, Chinese people light fireworks to drive away evil spirits, and people love the festival atmosphere they create. The fireworks produced in Liuyang are said to be the best in China for their quality and variety, and are exported to different countries around the world.
