Super Long City Bus Route in Nanjing, over 88 Stops
Aug 26, 2014 By eChinacities.com

One of Nanjing’s hottest bus routes is the Dongshang Line, which stops at 88 different stops, for a total journey distance of 71 km from Dongshang station to Jiangning Bus Station. The bus route has been operating since the 80’s and is outrageously slow, taking 7 hours to make the entire return journey.

Prices for the route are very fair – the entire trip can be done with 8.5 yuan for an air-conditioned vehicle, and 7.5 yuan for a normal one. Long bus routes like this were started to make life more convenient for those living near to Shangba Village.

Even after all this time, many of the passengers on the route are still the same people as before, except now, they are noticeably older.
