In the continuing uncertainty with regards to foreign TV shows and films for Chinese audiences, two Chinese streaming websites offering Western TV and film with Chinese subtitles have been shut down: YYets.com and shooter.cn.

YYets.com stopped operating last Saturday, without any notice explaining why, but there are rumours that its closure may be due to complaints filed by The Motion Picture Association of America, the Shanghai Daily reports.

On the same day, shooter.cn, another website where volunteers translate foreign films and TV shows to add Chinese subtitles, was shut down.
