Silk Road Train Tours Open from Beijing in August

Luxury train tours that retrace the steps of the Chinese portion of the historic Silk Road will be available from Beijing starting in August.

The train tours currently only depart from Xi’an, China’s ancient capital, and run through to Urumqi. The tour takes in various historic sites along the way, including Dunhuang, Maiji Mountain, and the Fuxi temple. From August this year the route will go from Beijing, through Xi’an, Tianshui, Jiayuguan, Dunhuang, Turpan and Urumqi.

Tickets range from 1780- 2380 RMB.
