Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe was interviewed at his official residence by Phoenix News three days ago, representing the first time for any Japanese Prime Minister in 7 years to accept a Chinese news interview. During the interview, Abe expressed that Japan will reflect on its war history and will not repeat the past. He also expressed that Japan’s new defense law will not cause Japan and China to have an armed conflict, and that he hopes to strengthen Sino-Japanese ties.

In tandem with that interview, Phoenix News conducted a follow up poll on its website which polled Chinese netizens about their views towards Sino-Japanese relations. The results are perhaps unsurprising.

1) Abe says that “Japan will not retread the path to war.” How do you view this statement?

- Agree, after experiencing the war, we should pursue peaceful development, Japan has no intentions for war.

First of all, polling the average Chinese netizen on political matters is the most senseless thing a person can do. Go to your nearest convenience store- the sight of an unwashed AYI wearing the same outfit for the past 2 weeks catches your eye as sounds of majiang tiles clatter through her computer speakers. Of course, those hands haven't been washed after holding her child to take a nice poop on right on a public street despite countless toilets and foliage nearby. Sounds of a Chinese war movie ring in the background, the Japanese are losing yet again. That woman then opens internet Explorer 4, and then votes on a poll.
