Mar 26, 2014 By eChinacities.com

According to an investigation by the Shenzhen Metro Group on four metro lines operating in the city, thousands of cases of ticket evasion were discovered in 2013, amounting to a total annual loss of around five million RMB.

In response to this investigation outcome, metro authorities conducted ticket checks yesterday and discovered 95 cases of ticket evasion in just two hours between 17:30 and 19:30.

Shenzhen metro authorities are now considering introducing a system whereby they record the credit details of fare evaders in order to deter such behavior in the future. No further details regarding this plan have been given.
