Shenzhen Gang Pose as Police and Steal 108 iPhones From Hong Kong Trafficker
Feb 20, 2013 By eChinacities.com

Last August and November in Shenzhen, on two separate occasions, a boatman surnamed “Guo” was investigated for illegally importing iPhones from Hong Kong by the Shenzhen police. However, both times his boat was searched by the officers, a large number of the iPhones he’d smuggled in seemingly disappeared, 108 in total. In Shenzhen, trafficking of popular items like iPhones is incredibly common, and it seems that a local criminal gang had gotten the idea to pose as police officers and steal from them. After all, what trafficker is going to report to the actual police that his illegal merchandise had been stolen? Regardless, the local People’s Procuratorate became aware of this fake-cop racket, and recently announced that a man surnamed “Wu” and five other members of a local criminal gang were arrested for robbery, and posing as police officers.
