Shanghai: Bullet Train Services Suspended Due to Typhoon Alert
Jul 24, 2014 By eChinacities.com

More than 20 high speed railway services due to pass through Shanghai Hongqiao train station were suspended yesterday as Shanghai prepared for the approaching Typhoon Matmo.

22 bullet train services to eastern coastal regions such as Shenzhen, Xiamen and Fuzhou have been canceled- full refunds on tickets for these services are available from within 5 days of the departure time.

Typhoon Matmo was downgraded to a tropical storm as it hit Taiwan and is expected to ease up as it travels up the mainland coast.

Six additional bullet trains will be put into service today from Shanghai to Wenzhou to try to minimize disruptions.
