Russia Trolls China by Putting Scarecrow in Border Guard Post
Aug 28, 2015 By eChinacities.com

China and Russia are supposedly working together on a bridge project to connect Tongijang, Heijongjiang with Russia's Nizhneleninskoye. However, Chinese construction teams have been plugging away, while the Russia side remains stark by comparison.

On Monday, the Russian side was so bare, that there weren't even soldiers in the guard posts across the river. A reporter with a telephoto lens was surprised to find when taking a picture of the Russian side that Russia had placed a scarecrow in the post instead of a real border guard.

When completed, the bridge will be 2,215.02 meters long. 1,886.45 meters will be built by China, and the 328.57 meters in Russian territory will be constructed by Russia.

Construction on the China side began in February 2014. The bridge is designed to have an annual cargo capacity of 21 million tons.
