The Tianjin police have caught an especially raucous cricket fighting gambling ring – chirp chirp. Sina news confirms that 62 people were arrested, and that around 370,000 RMB was confiscated too.
The gamblers had rented an entire house, and kept their operation hidden that way.
The industry is huge, as demonstrated by the sheer size of these discoveries. Reuters has written a report about it before, accompanied by some amazing photographs, covering the Chinese sport that is still not dying.
