Rainstorms in Chengdu Cause Severe Inner-City Flooding

Between the evening of June 19 and the early hours of June 20, Chengdu was hit by an intense rainstorm that caused many parts of the city to be flooded. Many cars, vans and trucks all got stuck in the floodwater, with some roads in the city becoming completely submerged.

From 8:00 on June 19 to 16:00 the next day, 625 rescue workers saved a total of 54 people stranded by the floods. Luckily, there were no causalities.
