Qingdao is a lively, energetic city with plenty going on to suit people of all interests. Its bar district, Yan'er Dao Road, offers a great range of pubs and clubs that cater to all musical tastes. Visitors that prefer quieter evening activity can wander the city's streets and beachfronts. Fascinating night markets on Yan'an Er Lu and Taidong Pedestrian Street stock all kinds of trinkets. They usually close at 10pm.
One of Qingdao's most famous products is Tsingtao Beer. Consumed by the gallon up and down the country as well as overseas, this light lager takes center stage every August during the Qingdao International Beer Festival. The city also has a range of other festivals that keep the crowds coming all year round, like the Cherry Blossom Festival, the Ocean Festival, the Beach Culture Festival and the Fashion Festival.
