A second Siberian Tiger released into the Wild by Putin has been caught on Chinese infrared, and is now confirmed to be in China. Ustin was previously near Khabarovsk City, but has now officially crossed into Chinese territory, and is now six kilometers from the border.
Earlier this year, Putin released three rare Siberian Tigers into the wild on separate occasions as part of a rehabilitation program, and we reported on one of them wandering, or perhaps fleeing, across the border into Heilongjiang. This tiger, named Kuzya, has adjusted to its new environment, and seems pretty stoked to be in China.
Kuyza was detected in the Taipingguo natural park in Luobei County in Heilongjiang province, and is still on the move further south – experts predict they may both spend winter in China.
