The National Bureau for Eradicating Porn and Illegal Publications publicly announced on April 17 that they have made several large scale busts over the past few months. Among the websites targeted and closed down were video, photographic and erotic literature sites.
The bureau provided some of the statistics for two of the major areas involved in the wide-scale investigation. In Jinsha, Guizhou Province, more than 30 websites were raided, featuring just under 10,000 videos.
In Harbin, Heilongjiang Province, the websites raided had an accumulative total of around 1.3 million members, who have all been affected by the bureau’s handy work. The atmosphere in Harbin is probably pretty tense these days.
