One of the vice presidents of China’s supreme court announced at a celebratory ceremony yesterday that the law pertaining to domestic violence has been reformed. The reform means that the court system can now intervene in family violence cases in complete capacity.

It was explained by a vice president of the supreme court that domestic violence in China is getting worse, and that over 24.7% of households experience domestic violence. The majority of victims in those cases are women, children, and old people.

Domestic violence in China has greatly benefited from privacy and secrecy towards the occurrence, with victims experiencing 35 different episodes of violence on average before finally choosing to report the problem.

The majority of domestic violence cases never even make it to the courts.

Samsara

But most of those cases are justified because the woman made the Chinese man angry. So he had to punch her in the face. Habitually, for 20 years. And cut off his nephew's ear. And torture dogs.
