Parking Fees in Guangzhou to Increase from August 1st
Jul 31, 2014 By eChinacities.com

Starting from tomorrow, August 1, Guangzhou’s parking fees will increase drastically, with its parking meters reaching the highest price nationwide: 16RMB/hour. This increase will mainly be seen in three areas: commercial parking, first class residential parking areas and parking meters. The new price for daytime metered parking and commercial parking is 4RMB/15 minutes, monthly residential parking is 500RMB/month and open-ground parking is doubling to 4RMB/hour.

The State Bureau for commodity pricing in Guangzhou stated that this price increase will go through a transition period in the city. Currently, many parking lots with meters are not ready for this change. However, the new pricing will be shown on display in public and will be charged accordingly. According to the new rule, the old pricing still applies to parking spaces that haven’t changed the meter or the display.
