Outbound Tourists Surpasses 100 Million in One Year for First Time

The China National Tourism Administration has announced that the number of tourists from the mainland has surpassed 100 million in a calendar year for the first time, China Daily reports.

The majority of these travelers visited nearby Asian countries. 90% went on holiday in Hong Kong, Macao, Taiwan and other Asian countries.

Reasons for the increase in figures were cited as simplified visa procedures, and tailored travel services. Incomes throughout the country have also been growing steadily, making travel more accessible for the population.

I totally see the struggle that took place here: "How to include HK, Taiwan and Macao in our figures (cause they count for 90%) while not admitting them as foreign countries". Answer: OUTBOUND, OUTBOUND tourists people. Aaaah I can really never see the end of how pathetic it gets.
