Obama, Abbott, Abe and Putin Arrive in Beijing: APEC Underway
Nov 10, 2014 By eChinacities.com

This morning and yesterday, three major world leaders arrived in Beijing: American President Barack Obama, Australian Prime Minister Toby Abbott, and Russian President Vladimir Putin. They arrived in Beijing for the APEC Summit that will take place on November 10 and 11.

Japanese President Shizu Abe has also arrived, and sources report that the Japanese and Chinese leaders have already had their first face-to-face talks, contrary to previous belief. There has been tension between the two country for a while now, based on various historical and contemporary incidents and territorial claims.

The city has been preparing for several important world leaders’ arrival for weeks, with pollution being reduced through many ways including various bizarre measures, and with restricted traffic and extra trains being put into place to deal with the expected rush.
