Nanjing has four distinct seasons, and the months of October and November are regarded as having the most pleasant weather. During these months, visitors can enjoy the annual Red Maple Leaf Festival held on the nearby Qixia Mountain. Visitors should pack autumn clothing and bring an umbrella, as it is certain to rain at least once during a two-week period.
Temperatures during the months of June and July range from 30C to33C (86-92F), and rain is frequent. Visitors should pack light clothing, an umbrella and a raincoat.
Temperatures in January can go as low as-2C, so winter visitors should pack warm clothing.
