Microsoft CEO Nadella Plans China Visit amid SAIC Investigation
Aug 29, 2014 By eChinacities.com

Satya Nadella, the CEO of Microsoft is planning to visit China in late September, Reuters reports. Microsoft became the subject of an antitrust investigation in July, as part of a widescale anti-monopoly crackdown against foreign firms in China.

Microsoft haven’t yet confirmed whether or not Nadella will meet with officials from the State Administration for Industry and Commerce (SAIC), the government regulator who is conducting the probe, who recently warned Microsoft not to interfere with the watchdog’s investigation.

The investigation and potential fines that they could face are just one of several problems that Microsoft will be facing during Nadella’s visit; following the government ban on Windows 8, China has just announced the development of a domestic operating system that will be launched as a direct competitor to the world’s largest software company.
