China’s top lawmakers announced a new national memorial day on September 30: Martyr’s Day.

The decision was made during the bi-monthly session of the Standing Comittee’s National Congress. The purpose of the day is to ‘commemorate martyrs’ and ‘cultivating patriotism, collectivism and socialist moralities.’

This is the third new memorial day to be dedicated this year- The Victory Day of the Chinese People’s War of Resistance against Japanese Aggression on September 3 and the National Memorial Day for Nanjing Massacre Victims were approved in February.

I have no doubt that's what they'll do, but watch out if there's any attempt at honoring those students.
