Line 2 Disruptions on July 23 Caused by Passengers on Tracks

Beijing subway authorities announced today that two people fell onto the tracks on Line 2 on the morning of July 23, within the space of an hour, resulting in one death.

The first incident occurred at Xuanwumen station when a woman fainted and fell down onto the tracks at approximately 06:48. The train entered the station, but stopped before it hit her. The woman managed to climb to safety at 06:55.

Less than half an hour later on the same line, another female passenger jumped onto the tracks at 07:18 at Gulou Dajie station. Two minutes later the train entered the station and the power was cut off. Later that day, the passenger’s death was announced on Weibo.

The line disruptions caused huge passenger flow problems at Fuxingmen and Xizhimen, however, normal service resumed at around 07:54.

Missing and falling planes from the sky...fainting people on subway lines...sounds like the start of The Happening...or World War Z... I tell if ever world war Z will start, it will start in China, just go into a Beijing subway line and you'll see why...
