Lhasa Nightlife

Lhasa Nightlife

Though Lhasa is becoming an increasingly popular tourist destination, the bar scene lacks the nightclubs and party-all-night joints that are becoming de rigueur for the bar scenes in other cities popular with young travelers. The nightlife in Lhasa is low-key, relaxed and friendlier than in a lot of other cities. Head to one of the popular youth hostels to meet a bevy of other travelers all willing to chat, share stories and give advice on travel in Tibet and the rest of China.

If you are interested in something a little more structured, there are 'traditional' Tibetan singing and dancing extravaganzas, as well as opera performances.
