Kunming Transport - Introduction

As the communication and transportation hub of Yunnan, Kunming is easily reached by road, rail and air. Its modern international airport serves a host of destinations at home and abroad, and the city's railroads radiate in all directions. Many travelers use Kunming as a base to visit other scenic spots in Yunnan, or even Vietnam. Infrastructure has dramatically improved in recent years. Most travelers coming in by car or bus will arrive at the city via the world-class National Highway 108.

Intra-city transportation is convenient and relatively inexpensive. Taxis operate 24 hours a day. Many visitors opt for the environmentally friendly bike rent. Many outlets in the city provide such services, but visitors should beware of bike thieves.
