Jiangxi Food Poisoning Leaves 320 in Hospital
Sep 19, 2014 By eChinacities.com

Food poisoning left 320 people in hospital in Jiangxi province earlier this week, with 21 still hospitalised as of Thursday morning, the Shanghai Daily reported.

The patients, most of whom are children aged between 3 and 18, had diarrhoea, nausea, stomach cramps and a fever in Jiangxi’s Lianhua County. Although the cause is still unclear, the county health bureau suspects a bacterial infection from food and/or water.

Everyone is currently in a stable condition and the cause is being further investigated. This is not the first case of mass food poisoning this summer; last June students in Northwest China suffered the same fate.
