Hunan Opens First Ever Subway Line in Changsha

Changsha’s first subway line opened to great fanfare last week, making it possible for residents to cross the city in only half an hour. Line 2 is a total length of 22.26 kilometers and has 19 stops.

The pricing system is staggered according to the distance travelled. It costs 2 RMB for journeys of 6 Kilometers and under, and 5 RMB to travel the entire line. Senior Citizens can ride for free, and students with a valid card, can travel half price.

More lines are scheduled to open in the coming months.
