Large busses and a fleet of mini-busses run from around 05:30 or 06:00 with the network shutting down between 19:00-21:30. The routes are quite comprehensive and cost between 1 RMB (city area) and 2 RMB (urban area). Visitors are warned to prepare their fare before boarding as the busses are now entirely self-service.
Harbin has two tourist bus lines: 29 and 301. More tourist bus lines are added during the Harbin International Ice and Snow Festival.
Bus 29 (7:30-18:30): Fanghong Jinan Pagoda/Youyi Lu (防洪纪念塔/友谊路)—Shirenda (市人大)—Social Sciences Institution (社会科学院)—Shangwu Lu (上坞路)—Taiyang Island Dakou (太阳岛道口)—Taiyang Island (太阳岛).

Bus 301: Harbin Railway Station (7:00-10:00) - Northern Forest Zoo (北方森林动物园) (13:00-16:00).
