Hangzhou Recruiting “Modern Marco Polo”; 40,000 EUR Salary Offered

On March 12, the search for a “modern Marco Polo” was kicked off, with the international competition encouraging users on Facebook and Twitter to share their Hangzhou experiences in a bid to secure a position as an advisor for Hangzhou’s international tourism marketing. The Venetian scholar once claimed that Hangzhou was the most beautiful city in the world during his extensive travels. The winner of the competition will secure the job for a year, and will undergo a 15 day-long intensive training session. The salary for the position is reported to be 40,000 EUR. The competition is already advertised on Facebook, Twitter, Pinterest, and Youtube, as well as the official Hangzhou city website. Potential entrees are able to take part in the competition via these websites.
