Guangzhou Transport - Bus

The bus fare is a flat rate of 1 RMB for non-air-conditioned buses and 2 RMB for air-conditioned buses. General operational hours are 6:00-22:00. Visitors are advised that during rush hour, buses are crowded and passengers should be on the alert for pickpockets. Currently, there are about 570 bus routes in Guangzhou; among them there are 14 trolley buses (bus No. 101-114) and 18 mini-buses (starting with bus No. 8). There are also 45 night buses (夜) that run until 1:30, with fare prices increased to 1.5 RMB for non-air-conditioned buses and 3 RMB for air-conditioned buses.

The Yangcheng Tong Transportation Card costs 40 RMB and can be purchased in convenience stores and banks. The card can be used on buses, subways and ferries with a 5% discount. In addition, Yangchengtong can be used at some supermarkets, fast food restaurants and all 7-11 convenience stores.
