On the August 26 the Guangzhou Municipal Government posted and implemented the “Guangzhou Taxi Management Regulations” which is aimed at making public transportation and taxis more convenient for passengers.

The regulation stipulates that if taxi drivers refuse to accept their payment with public transportation card, then passengers are allowed to refuse to pay for their fare. Paying by card has been an option for ten years, but still there are many drivers who refuse to accept this method of payment.

On top of this, Guangzhou taxi drivers are also no longer allowed to refuse passengers without reason when they are working.
