On Sunday, Guangzhou, Los Angeles and Auckland signed a memorandum of understanding to formalize their sister city relations.
This agreement is the world’s first tri-city engagement – setting an example for the entire world in the 21st century. Their relationship will play on manufacturing and foreign trade between the three cities, which are all gateways into their countries.
The papers were signed on the 33rd anniversary of the sister city relationship between Guangzhou and Los Angeles.
Guangzhou Mayor Chen Jianhua was quoted by AsiaOne as saying that Guangzhou benefits the most, because it can learn so much about innovation, talent training and environmental protection from both Los Angeles and Auckland.
