A man in Guangxi was caught with over 2,000 items of stolen underwear stuffed in his ceiling, ifeng reports.

He was caught after many female residents reported that items of their underwear had inexpliably gone missing- one complainant said that she even though her iPhone, computer and jewellery were lying around her apartment, the only thing that went missing was her underwear.

One pair of residents decided to set up a hidden camera in their house whilst they were out to catch the thief, and it turned out that the culprit was one of their neighbours, surnamed Tang.

The couple immediately called the police, who went to his house to apprehend him and found an astonishing amount of stolen underwear stuffed in his ceiling.

Tang apparently had gotten into his neighbours’ apartments using a master key.

He has since confessed and claims that he has had a mental illness since childhood, and doesn’t understand where his obsession with women’s underwear comes from.
